What types of music do students at the academy learn? Students can choose from a variety of styles, classical, easy listening, popular, new age, and ensemble pieces as well.

What type of lessons are right for you?  The more advanced the player the more important individual lessons become. However, group lessons are a great resource for beginners and intermediate pianists. Piano Choir is also available for more advanced pianists so to improve ensemble playing abilities. Ms. Rodriguez is available to discuss most appropriately for you.

How young can a student start taking piano lessons? Although there are many different schools of thought on the perfect age, the piano academy typically accepts students for lessons as young as age 6.

Am I too old to start taking lessons? It is never too late to start taking lessons. Join one of our adults group courses, or you can also take private online or in person lessons and begin your musical journey. Students of all ages have enjoyed lessons at the academy. How many lessons do I need before I can play a small piece of music? From the first lesson at the Piano Academy, you will be able to play the simplest pieces. We take great pride in insuring even the newest student are enjoying their piece(s) from the very first lesson.

Do you need a piano at home? It is helpful to have an instrument at home to review what is covered in the lesson.  An electronic instrument is a great way to start your journey in music. Later you can upgrade to an acoustic piano if you wish, but an electronic instrument works great for a beginner and intermediate students.

What do I need for online lessons?  Most important is a quiet space, reliable high speed internet, and a keyboard (electronic or acoustic). 

What devices are recommended for online lessons? Any type of electronic device connected to high speed internet connection would work for online lessons.

Do the students need to perform in the recitals? The Piano Academy offers recitals and performance opportunities to its students throughout the year. However, it is ultimately up to the student if they want to perform. Participation is voluntary.

When are payments due for individual lessons, online lessons or group lessons? Lesson fees are due monthly for in person and online lessons, by the first of each month. For group lessons, payments are due are the beginning of each semester.

How are payments made? The Piano Academy accepts payments through CashApp and Zelle.

What about if I need to cancel or change a lesson time?
